Archive ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Archive mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the Service. Because Archive is currently in a limited beta, some features and data flows may change as we improve the product.
When you create an account or use the app, we may collect:
When you use certain features, you may upload or create:
Important information about uploaded images:
We automatically collect certain information when you access or use the Service:
The mobile app uses local storage (such as AsyncStorage) to keep lightweight settings on your device, for example:
This data stays on your device unless the app needs to sync it with our backend to provide a specific feature.
To power our trend discovery features, we may collect and analyze publicly available fashion-related content and metadata from third-party platforms (for example, social posts, fashion discussions, search interest, or resale signals). We generally store only derived or aggregated insights (such as trend scores, mention counts, or popularity rankings) rather than the original content.
For California residents, we may collect the following categories of personal information, as defined by the CCPA/CPRA:
We use the information we collect to:
We do NOT sell your personal information, and during this beta we do NOT use your images or closet data for advertising or affiliate monetization.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
When you request an AI-powered feature (for example, “generate an outfit for fall using my saved items” or “virtual try-on”), we may send the necessary inputs to trusted AI providers (such as OpenAI or FASHN) so they can generate the output you asked for.
Depending on the feature, this can include:
These third-party AI services process your content solely to return the result you requested. We do not permit them to use your personal photos for their own marketing. Their processing is subject to their own privacy terms.
You can delete uploaded images and, where available, AI results inside the app. We will remove them from our systems within a reasonable period.
Some states, including Illinois (BIPA), Texas, and Washington, have laws governing the collection and use of biometric identifiers and information. If we process face or body images in a way that could be considered biometric under those laws, we will:
In the app, we may ask you to give explicit consent before uploading a face/body photo. That consent is intended to meet these state requirements.
Our website and web version of the app may use limited cookies or similar technologies to:
During beta, we do not use third-party advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
If we ever begin sharing data for advertising or affiliate monetization, we will provide additional disclosures and (where required) opt-out links.
We store your information using industry-standard security measures:
The mobile app may communicate directly from your device to our Supabase backend using app-safe public keys, protected by row-level security, to fetch trend data, closet items, and vision boards.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
We are based in the United States and your information may be stored and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. These locations may have privacy laws that are different from those in your country.
Where required (for example, for EEA/UK users), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms to lawfully transfer personal data outside of your region.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data within about 30 days, except where we must retain certain records for legal, security, or fraud prevention reasons.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@archivecloset.com and include "Data Rights Request" in the subject. We will respond within 30 days (or as required by law).
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within a reasonable time (and within any period required by law) via email or in-app notice with details on what happened and steps you can take.
Our Service is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
For features involving photo uploads, we recommend users be 18 or older or have parental consent. We may disable or limit photo features for accounts we believe are under 18.
Our Service may contain links to third-party retailers or platforms. Their privacy practices are not controlled by us. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing information to them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and update the "Last updated" date. For significant changes affecting how we handle your images or personal information, we may also notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
